Windows Server 2008 as development platform

Well, this is going to be interesting. I’ve spent the day installing Windows Server 2008 on my brand new laptop at work. I was inspired by Mikael Deurell’s post about using Hyper-V etc. So far it’s been much easier than I expected. Pretty much all device drivers for my Compaq 8510w installed without any problems ...

T4 editor available

It seems Clarius Consulting have released a beta version of a pretty nice addition to Visual Studio, at least if you’re working with the Guidance Automation Toolkit. The T4 Editor will give you IntelliSense, nice colorization etc when working with your T4 templates. I’m now just waiting for them to release a version of the Software ...

VS2008 RTM any day now?

According to the Microsoft guys in building 20, the RTM of Visual Studio 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5 is coming “very, Very, VERY soon” – whatever that means… Tweet

Going to Redmond!

Well, in a couple of days I’m off to the Microsoft Campus in Redmond! I’m attending an Orcas Adoption Workshop next week which will take me through all the new stuff in Visual Studio 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5. So far, I haven’t got the agenda so I have more or less no idea who ...

Visual Studio 2005 SDK 4.0 Released

Seems like there is a brand new VS SDK available on MSDN. Not sure if I have the courage to install it considering the trouble I had last time.. Oh well, I’m an optimist.. I’m sure they’ve ironed out all issues by now, right? 🙂 Tweet

Sandcastle Visual Studio Project

Final update Sorry, I’m not able to figure out what’s wrong with this, and since Frank has a better solution for Visual Studio integration, I’m cancelling this attempt. If you’re interested in the source code, send me an email! I think it’s better if I focus my efforts on the MSBuild script instead. Update 3 ...

Teaser: Sandcastle integrated in Visual Studio

As you may have seen in previous posts from me, I’ve created a MSBuild script that makes it easier to create Sandcastle documentation files. But hey, why stop there? Wouldn’t it be nice if the whole process was integrated in Visual Studio like all other products? Well, I couldn’t help myself, so I tried it ...

vwd.webinfo

Aarrghh.. I keep getting a vwd.webinfo-file added to some of my websites. According to this post on the ASP.NET forums, this file was previously known as vwdsettings.xml and contains information about what services to start in order for the web app to build and run properly. Now, to my knowledge I don’t need any services ...

Tweet

New Visual Studio 2005 SDK Release

I’ve been implementing a couple of add-ins for VS 2005 and I just saw that there is a new release of the VS2005 SDK. The download is double the size of the last version, that has to be a good sign.. 🙂 Tweet
